KNOWING GOD BY NAME PART 6: ALMIGHTY GOD

I had a vision from the Lord Sunday, September 2, 2018 while at church. It was a vision of the coming revival before the Lord’s return. It was similar to other visions I have had previously and heard described by others. It was a vision of a tsunami wave of God sweeping over the church and the whole world. This one was slightly different in nature. The promise of God drawing people to repentance, salvation, healing, deliverance and wholeness is always in visions of revival, but this vision also had a warning.
My vision was as follows: I saw a Mighty tsunami wave approaching land. The wall of water was high enough to stand above and overpower the tallest of buildings in the world. The scope of its reach was all the landmass on earth. Nothing hindered its movement; not mountains, buildings, caves, man-made structures or anything created. There was nowhere to run and nowhere to hide. Every person was impacted by the tsunami of Almighty God one way or the other, for good or for bad.
The message of this vision appeared to be that those who drew near to God would be swept up in the waves of His Glory. They would be set on fire, the fire of passionate love for Him and for the lost and broken. It would ignite a new level of commitment to Him and His Kingdom, one with no limitations. However, those who cursed God rejecting His last invitation for salvation would be marked for destruction and eternal separation from God. This vision continued and as the waters began to subside, I could see that structures which had stood as beautiful monuments to the accomplishments of man were torn down. Most of the debris was washed away but a few piles of rubble remained as a telling sign that man’s works to build his own kingdom would be destroyed.
In this vision, there were even some churches, large and small that were completely leveled to the foundation. I saw a couple of charred sticks lying beside the foundation as evidence that all the works of man would be burned up. Nothing stood but the foundation of the Gospel of the Kingdom upon which they were originally built. Over time they had gradually gravitated to the building of monuments celebrating the ingenuity, wisdom, doctrines and plans of man. Those church leaders sought to draw the people through creative programs rather than by hungering and thirsting for the Presence of God.
The churches that withstood the tsunami’s force were built by Jesus through pastors, leaders and people who were not satisfied to have only a piece of God. They desperately sought to be consumed by God until only He poured out of them to others. They allowed the fire of God to burn up their fleshly desires so that their hearts were completely surrendered to doing the will of God. These churches sought to bring in the broken and lost, making disciples of them. They became healed and whole through the leadership’s surrender to God which established an abiding atmosphere for the Presence of God.
The warning of the vision was the same warning of Revelation 2 and 3. The churches which were not surrendered and obedient to Christ Jesus will have their lampstands removed. The works of man will crumble under the weight of the Glory of God! Only those things which are eternal will stand in the last days, which are soon approaching.
KNOWING GOD BY NAME: ALMIGHTY GOD- All Sufficient, All Powerful
“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, says the Lord God. He Who is and Who was and Who is to come, the Almighty (the Ruler of all).” Revelation 1:8. (Emphasis mine).
“For to us a Child is born, to us a Son is given; and the government shall be upon His shoulder, and His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father [of Eternity], Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and of peace there shall be no end.” Isaiah 9:6-1a. (Emphasis mine).
God was there in the beginning before creation and He is here now. He will be there in the end and everything in between. There is no demon from hell that can withstand Him. Satan and his hordes will one day, once and for all time, bow down to Him as they do every time a person is saved and delivered from his grasp. All of heaven and those in hell will witness the entirety of creation bow down to Almighty God on that day!
There is a song by Hillsong which I love to sing and declare: “ What A Beautiful Name”. Some of the lyrics are below:
“You were the Word at the beginning, One With God the Lord Most High. Your hidden glory in creation, Now revealed in You our Christ.
You didn’t want heaven without us, So Jesus, You brought heaven down. My sin was great Your love was greater, What could separate us now?
Death could not hold You, the veil tore before You. You silenced the boast of sin and grave. The heavens are roaring, the praise of Your glory, for You are raised to life again.
You have no rival, You have no equal. Now and forever, Our God reigns. Yours is the Kingdom, Yours is the glory, Yours is the Name, above all names.
What a powerful Name it is, what a powerful Name it is, the Name of Jesus Christ my King. What a powerful Name it is, Nothing can stand against, What a powerful Name it is, the Name of Jesus.”
Those who are not disciples of Jesus are worshipping things that have been created or man-made: creation itself, man’s ideologies, science, opinions, false gods, demons, mankind, self, etc. Almighty God will only dwell in the heart of men and women who are completely surrendered to His will. He will abide in churches where the atmosphere of worship, praise and prayer enforce their corporate cry to be like Him. God requires a complete surrender of all of our heart, our mind and our strength. There must be no other gods in our lives but Him.
“Hear, O Israel; the Lord our God is one Lord [the only Lord]. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your [mind and] heart and with your entire being and with all your might. And these words which I am commanding you this day shall be [first] in your own minds and hearts.” Deuteronomy 6:4-6.
Egypt was the greatest and most powerful nation in the world when God sent Moses to set His people free. Pharaoh was considered a deity as Egypt worshipped false gods and practiced sorcery. The Lord appeared to Moses and began to show him that He was and is Almighty God.
“Then the Lord said to Moses, now you shall see what I will do to Pharaoh; for [compelled] by a strong hand he will [not only] let them go, but he will drive them out of his land with a strong hand. And God said to Moses, I am the Lord. I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob as God Almighty, [El-Shaddai], but My name the Lord [Yahweh-the redemptive name of God] I did not make Myself known to them [in acts and great miracles].” Exodus 6:1-3. (Emphasis mine).
It was Almighty God who pulled down the tower of Babel and the statue of Dagon, the God of the Philistines. It was Almighty God who protected Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego in the fiery furnace, heated 7 times hotter than normal. Not only did He protect them, He was seen with them in the fire! It was Almighty God Who protected Daniel in the lion’s den although the king had starved the lions so that they would tear him apart. It was Almighty God who tore down the wall of Jericho when the Israelites shouted. It was also Almighty God Who parted the Red Sea so the Israelites could walk to safety from Pharaoh’s army and drowned the Egyptians when they tried to pursue them. It was Almighty God who kept Balaam from cursing the Israelites for money and it was Almighty God who fulfilled His promise to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. It was Almighty God who shook the earth when Jesus died on the cross causing dead patriarchs to rise from the grave and walk through Jerusalem. It was Almighty God who raised Jesus from the dead and apprehended the keys of death and hades from the bowels of Hell. It will be Almighty God who will defeat the innumerable armies in the valley of Armageddon on the day of the Lord and it will be Almighty God who will cast Satan and his demons into the lake of fire to burn for eternity!
You and I have been granted the invitation to live in constant communion with the Lord God Almighty. “He Who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand]. I will say of the Lord, He is my Refuge and my Fortress, my God; on Him I lean and rely, and in Him I [confidently] trust!” Psalm 91:1-2. (Emphasis mine).
Those who put their trust in Almighty God need not fear what is to come. Those who put their trust in the Lord need not be afraid of the unknown. He will hide us in the secret place. He will place us under His wings of protection. He will keep us fixed under His shadow. When we know Almighty God, there is nothing that should cause us fear or doubt. When trouble comes, we will remain hidden in Him.
The name Almighty God was not only given to Moses, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, it is for ALL who put their trust in Him!
