WHO IS JESUS? PART VI Kay Keith Peebles 11/15/2019 19.40
The story did not end with the resurrection and ascension of Jesus. See Parts I-V. “Yeshua (Jesus) said to her, I Am the Resurrection and the Life! Whoever puts his trust in Me will live, even if he dies; and everyone living and trusting in Me will never die. Do you believe this?” John 11:25-26 New Jerusalem Translation.
Today, Jesus is seated at the right hand of God, ruling and reigning in heaven. Jesus is also alive in the heart of every true believer in Him. The Apostle Paul summed up Jesus’ life succinctly and clearly in Philippians 2:6-11. “Though He was in the form of God, He did not regard equality with God something to be possessed by force. On the contrary, He emptied himself, in that He took the form of a slave by becoming like human beings are. And when He appeared as a human being, He humbled Himself still more by becoming obedient even to death—death on a stake (cross) as a criminal! Therefore God raised Him to the highest place and gave Him the name above every name; that in honor of the name given Yeshua (Jesus), every knee will bow—in heaven, on earth and under the earth—and every tongue will acknowledge that Yeshua the Messiah is ADONAI, (I AM)—to the glory of God the Father.” New Jerusalem Bible.
What does the scripture mean when it says “every knee shall bow in heaven, on earth and under the earth”? It means that everyone alive or dead who has ever existed will one day bow before Jesus calling Him Lord. It also includes every demon, principality, power of darkness and Satan himself.
There are two kingdoms: The kingdom of darkness, ruled by Satan, and the Kingdom of God, ruled by Jesus. When Adam and Eve sinned by eating the forbidden fruit, the dominion which the Lord God had given them over the earth and all it contained was lost to Satan and the kingdom of darkness. Death and destruction ruled except where the Lord God intervened in the lives of certain men and women. Jesus came to redeem mankind and the earth for the Kingdom of God in order to set us free from the bondage of sin and death.
His perfect sinless life, teaching, death and resurrection disarmed Satan and his kingdom. Jesus paid the price to redeem all who believe in Him from destruction. Paul wrote: “When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh (worldliness, manner of life), God made you alive together with Christ, having [freely] forgiven us all our sins, having canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of legal demands [which were in force] against us in which were hostile to us. And this certificate He has set aside and completely removed by nailing it to the cross. When He had disarmed the rulers and authorities [those supernatural forces of evil operating against us], He made a public example of them, having triumphed over them through the cross.” Colossians 2:13-15.
“[But] he who commits sin [who practices evildoing] is of the devil [takes his character from the evil one] for the devil has sinned (violated the divine law) from the beginning. The reason the Son of God was made manifest (visible) was to undo (destroy, loosen, and dissolve) the works the devil [has done].” 1 John 3:8.
Jesus revealed His resurrected body to 500 people in the 40 days He remained on earth before He ascended into heaven. See WHO IS JESUS? PART V. The Holy Spirit fell upon 120 disciples, (men and women), in the upper room 10 days after His ascension. They were all filled with the fire of God, and with the evidence of speaking in new tongues. The Holy Spirit gave them accurate and concise understanding of everything Jesus said and did. Jesus also charged and empowered them with the Holy Spirit to do the works He did and even more. They were to impact their local area (Jerusalem) and spread throughout the entire earth witnessing, making disciples and baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. See Mark 16:14-20. What they began has continued to this very day and more people are being made disciples than ever before in the history of mankind.
For all people to be fully redeemed, they must receive Jesus as Lord and Savior, consistently abiding in His presence and faithfully following His kingdom principles. Otherwise, they are still under the “control” of sin and Satan. Those who believe in Jesus and are filled with the fire of God and the power of the Holy Spirit will do the same works that Jesus did. “I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, if anyone steadfastly believes in Me, he will himself be able to do the things that I do; and he will do even greater things than these, because I go to the Father.” John 14:12
“And these attesting signs will accompany those who believe: in My name they will drive out demons; they will speak a new language; they will pick up serpents; and [even] if they drink anything deadly, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will get well.” Mark 16:17-18. We will not remain in a world embroiled in death, murder, perversion, corruption, malice and evil forever. The LORD is coming back soon!
If you are not born again through confessing and repenting of your sins, (turning away from continually committing sin); please do that right now. Then ask Jesus to come into your heart and allow the Holy Spirit to do His sanctifying (cleansing, healing) work in you. He will deliver you from the desire to sin and lead you into a holy way of living. Time is growing short. All the prophetic signs are pointing to His return soon (within a few years).
